Burnham & Berrow
Burnham and Berrow Golf Club is a fine example of a classic English links course. Founded in 1890 beside the ocean it offers a superb challenge to all abilities of golfers.
J H Taylor, the first club Professional played an important part in development of the playing side of the club, but the shape of today’s course is mainly due to Harry Colt.
Burnham has hosted many important tournaments, from as early as 1906 with the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship and last year 2006, a century later, was host to the English Open Mens Matchplay Championships with many a match in between.
It is a truly magical place to play our game and long may it remain so..
